One of the best parts of being a writer is getting to read everyone else’s stuff! So for the next two weeks, you’re invited to post some of your best verse here!
Even though limericks may or may not have originated in Limerick, Ireland, they’re easy to write. Tell us about your book, your work, a favorite character, whatever you’d like by posting a limerick in the comments section below!
A sample regarding Feeling Lucky to get you started:
There once was a lady named Megan
Whose fingers did something quite pagan
But the man that she pinched
Wouldn’t give an inch
So she had to put up with him stay’n!
Please note – Limericks are traditionally risqué (also an area of debate), but this is not a racy site. If you’re going to be bawdy, you’ll have to be creative. Here’s more on the form.
The Rules –
- One (1) limerick per person.
- All entries are reviewed before going live. Any entry found vulgar or offensive won’t be posted.
- Don’t forget a link to your website, book, blog, etc. so readers can follow up on your fabulosity!
The Prizes – Two (2) winners will be arbitrarily chosen by whatever family member from among one senior citizen, four adults, two teenagers, or one child that I can pin down. Each winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to Amazon.com
The Deadline – All entries must be submitted before Thursday 8/22. Winners will be announced by the next weekend.
